The Robert Giard Foundation is sad to announce that legendary curator and member of the Giard Foundation Board Klaus Kertess, has died at age 76.

"Klaus Kertess, a curator and director of the Bykert Gallery, where Brice Marden, Chuck Close and other artists started their careers in the 1960s, died on October 8th, 2016 in Manhattan. He was 76. Mr. Kertess had a good eye and an even better nose. Bykert quickly gained a reputation for ferreting out talented artists waiting for their first big break, most of them associated with Minimalism, Post Minimalism and Process Art." - William Grimesoct, Oct. 16, 2016
