Blouin Artinfo International Reviews Alex Webb's Current Exhibition at Aperture New York

Guanajuato, Mexico, 1987 © Alex Webb / Magnum Photos

"Webb’s photographs of Mexico, whether in black and white or color, are richly layered and complex with compositions that touches on multiple genres. His ability to capture gestures, light, and cultural tensions into single frames results in evocative images that convey a sense of mystery, irony, and humor. The selection of photographs on exhibit depicts his extensive work on the U.S.–Mexico border and southern Mexico, throughout the 1980s and ’90s." - Blouin Artinfo - Sept 2016
