Charles Matton Exhibition at the Bibliothėque National de France

Multitalented French artist Charles Matton exhibition "Le peintre Charles Matton, cinéaste et écrivain" opening at Bibliothėque National de France from February 9th until March 26th, 2016.

The artist’s film archives – annotated scenarios including drawings, preparatory materials for shooting and cutting, notes about his obsessional and meticulous working-out of films – donated to the BnF by Sylvie Matton, his wife and close collaborator, allow to discover the intimacy of the artist’s work and the various steps of the creative process.

For the first time ever, these archives are presented with the artist’s written works – essays, literary works, annotations on papers of various sizes – which illustrate an original reflexion on aesthetics and ethics, art, artists, money, sex…

The exhibition will take place at the François Mitterrand / donor Gallery. Admission is free. For more information please visit: www.bnf.fr
