Larry Towell Featured in the Windsor Star

Larry Towell on the other side of war

"Though he’s travelled all over the globe to photograph major conflicts and compelling human rights stories, Larry Towell says his focus is still very much on home.

Not just his own home, in Bothwell, Ont., just east of Chatham, but the places other people call home, whether it’s Kiev blanketed in protesters, New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, or Palestine in its multiple uprisings.

'I became a photographer through human rights issues and human rights concerns,' said Towell, an award-winning photojournalist whose work has appeared in myriad publications and books, including Life and the New York Times, and whose images are syndicated by the Magnum photo agency." - Beatrice Fatoni for the Windsor Star
