Untitled, Toronto, 1960
In conjunction with the exhibition Lutz Dille’s Toronto: Photographs of Our Recent Past at the University of Toronto Art Centre, the Stephen Bulger Gallery will be showing a series of films by the featured photographer and filmmaker.

Untitled, Toronto, 1957

The solo exhibition showcases a collection of black-and-white prints that capture moving, everyday moments in the streets of Toronto during the 1950s and 60s. Lutz Dille favoured photographing street life because that is where he felt people were most themselves and where candid honesty could be identified. Dille’s film work – a collection of short documentary style shots and still images mixed to an eccentric soundtrack – also holds that proposition, while revealing the artist’s witty and peculiar sense of humour.
