Sarah Anne Johnson in the Builder's Biennial

In a video about the Builder's Biennial, Marc Mayer refers to Gallery Artist Sarah Anne Johnson as “…another artist I am very fond of is Sarah Anne Johnson.  This is her 2nd Biennial in a row.  We just couldn’t pass up the opportunity of showing you how brilliant she is, and in reinventing herself as well with an entirely new body of work.”

The Gallery has recently announced the extension of its special exhibition Builders: Canadian Biennial 2012 until 18 February to coincide with Winterlude. As well, admission is now free with general admission, and free Thursday evenings after 5 pm.

On Saturday 12 January from 1 pm to 3 pm, the public is invited to Meet the Artists Chris Cran, Susan Dobson, Sandy Plotnikoff, David Merritt and Sarah A. Johnson, who will speak about their works. The presentations will be 20-30 minutes each and are included with Gallery admission.

Sneak a peak in the artists’ studios and listen to some interviews as a dozen new videos have just been added on the iPads in the exhibition space. Visitors can also use the Wi-Fi network to share their thoughts on Twitter, use hashtag #NGCbuilders

The exhibition catalogue is still available at the Bookstore and online ($40, members $34) in separate English or French versions.

Organized by the National Gallery of Canada.
