FAREWELL MY CONCUBINE
Dir. Kaige Chen (China: 1993), 171 min.
Adapted from the novel by Lilian Lee, Farewell My Concubine illustrates
China’s political turmoil during the mid-20th century. The film is
based on the over fifty year friendship of two men who met as

between them. Farewell My Concubine shared the top price at the Cannes
