THE WAR TAPES
Dir. Deborah Scranton (USA: 2006), 97 min. The War Tapes is
an American documentary, directed by Deborah Scranton and compiled from
footage provided by several members of the National Guard in Iraq. It is
the first documentary to be produced by American soilders themselves
and provides viewers with an internal perspective on the complicated
conflict in Iraq. The film won the prize for Best International
Documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2006 and the Best
International Documentary at BRITDOC in July 2006.
