RASHOMON

Dir. Akira Kurosawa (JAPAN: 1950), 88 min. Rashomon is a Japanese crime drama film set in the 12th century. The film opens with a woodcutter, a priest and a commoner in a wooden structure known as Rashomon gate, taking shelter from the rain. The three men discus their conflicting points of view about the trial of a notorious bandit and the incident involving the possible murder of a samurai who was found dead.
