A Christmas classic, Miracle on 34th Street is the story of Kris Kringle, a jolly old man who is brought in as a last-minute replacement for the intoxicated Santa who was supposed to lead the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. When Kringle is institutionalized as insane for claiming to be the real Santa Clause, a young lawyer defends him by arguing in court that he is indeed the real Santa.
