RUTH ORKIN: FRAMES OF LIFE
Dir. Mary Engel (USA: 1996), 18 min. This film looks at the life and work of photographer Ruth Orkin. Her career started out in the 1930’s photographing celebrities and continued through the 1980’s. The film includes interviews with Cornell Capa, Mary Ellen Mark, Nina Lee Craig, Morris Engel and Evelyne Daitz. This film premiered at the Sundance film festival in 1996.
Dir. Ray Ashley, Morris Engel & Ruth Orkin (USA: 1953), 80 min. Little Fugitive is a story about a 7 year old boy who is tricked into believing he killed his older brother. He then flees to Coney Island thinking he is in big trouble.
